<aside> 📌 this is an example of what your monthly finance reflection might look like! it's pretty basic and doesn't include budgeting, but if you're just starting out with $$$ stuff, a good place to start is to know what you're spending your money on & how much you're saving in the first place. PSA all numbers/purchases are made up.

income:

— total: $600

savings (input - output): $600 - $487 = $123

finance reflection:

<aside> 📌 i calculate these percentages by adding up the cost in groups of tags (EX: for necessities, i added up $2 (school) + $20 (groceries/gas) + $40 (groceries/gas) + $90 (youtube) = $152) and then divide that by my total earnings for the month [$600] and then x100 to get the percentage (using a calculator ofc). pretty basic percentage math!

<aside> 📌 once you type in the cost amount and select the type of expense, the purchases will automatically be organized into 1) the type of expense, and 2) the price in order of smallest amount to greatest (within the tag category). if this bothers you, you can click the Sort button and choose how you want to organize the purchases (by date, cost only, type of expense only, etc.)
